Bun Cha, Vietnam with US president Obama

In April 2015, Bún Chả Hương Liên was just like any of the other noodle shops in Vietnam’s 1,000-year-old capital. Saigon beer bottles kicked around between blue plastic stools and cigarette smoke wafted through the air, mixing with the unmistakable scent of pork grilling on open flames. A month later, after US President Barack Obama and late celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain stepped inside, the restaurant would never be the same.

Bun Cha was served to President OBMA after his busy day in Hanoi, in a popular restaurant in the Le Van Huu Street where he tasted this traditional dish of Vietnam.

Streets like: Thi Sach - Le Van Huu - Ngo Thi Nham in the district of Hoan Kiem in Hanoi capital of Vietnam have been blocked for strict security protection when people knew that President Obama would take the Bun Cha here in the evening of 23 May 2016.

Before, the White House announced that President Obama wanted to spend his time for some sightseeing tour and discovering the culture and the local gastronomy...

'' Mr. Obama has ordered 2 portions of Bun Cha '' shared the owner of Huong Lien restaurant.

The owner of Huong Lien restaurant could not hide his joy by laughing constantly. She said she was surprised when Obama came to her restaurant. She also shook hands with president. According to the owner, the hands of Obama are soft and warm. His smile is beautiful and he was very sociable.

Faced with the question "Do you want to name Bun Cha Huong Lien Bun Cha Obama?" The boss laughed by saying that she didn’t think about it because it happened so fast and that the name of Bun Cha Huong Lien existed longtime.
